Many independent studies show a growing concern about the dangers of pesticides on food that we all eat. We really need to know what the long term dangers of pesticides are to humans. Without that knowledge we cannot push for change.

It is a well know fact that our government is not on the side of the people when it comes between them and corporations. You see the corporations have a lot of power over the government by means of their money and lobbying and special interests working very hard endlessly to sway government policy in their favor.

That is politics.

We know that pesticides are toxic. It says so right on the label. So how can it not be toxic to humans when it is first sprayed on the food and then it is eaten by the human? The thought that it isn’t at all harmful to humans is illogical and absurd.

At what point does a toxin cease to be a toxin? Pesticides are designed to do one thing and one thing only. They are designed to kill whatever is deemed to be a pest. Now that means the stuff isn’t going to stop being a killing substance as soon as it gets to the consumer in their food.

We as a people need to stand up and be heard that we don’t want to be slowly poisoned by the food we eat. That is done by shifting your purchasing of fruits and vegetables over to local organic farmers and buying from the organic sections of your grocers. The grocers will notice the change and they will buy more of the organics for you to buy from them.

As time goes on we see more and more that the dangers of pesticides on food is making this country sicker and sicker. It is hard to pin it down to one particular substance but it is clear something is at the root of the health decline in the country.

Tons of chemicals are sprayed on food crops annually

The research need to continue into the dangers of pesticides on food and we as a public need to stand up and be heard that we want toxin free foods on our tables. The government has subsidy programs that pay farmers a lot of money to grow and sell their crops for less than it costs to produce it. Now that makes the toxic produce in the store cheaper than the non toxic produce.

In the long run we will all pay later for that cheap produce with high medical bills and more sickness and loss of life.

You have to make a choice to push on the establishment to grow you non-toxic food or you will get the toxic product.

As we move along we can diminish the dangers of pesticides on food by getting more and more farmers to grow us food that is non-toxic.

Another step you can take is to grow your own organic garden at home or in a community garden plot to offset your own exposure to the toxins. There isn’t anything difficult about growing your own foods and you get the joy and relaxation of the the whole process.

In order to grow an organic vegetable garden there are some simple things you need to consider. There aren’t any difficult things to do to be organic as you may have come to believe.

You need to be chemical free in all aspects of building and maintaining your garden. That comes from using only compost and fertilizers that you either make or purchase certified organic from a supplier.

I like to get a mixture of the two. I’ll buy a cubic yard or two of compost and till it into the garden in the fall then till again in the spring as we plant. That gives the soil quite a good amount of time to adjust to the new ingredients and it produces fabulous results.

As the growing season goes along you can add fertilizer that you make from available organic recipes to individual plants. Placing the fertilizer on the surface and letting it leach down to the roots will ensure that the plant is always having the nutrients it needs available.

Now if you’re anything like me and you like to have something to read that you can refer to frequently then I would suggest you purchase this EBOOK package so you have everything you need at your fingertips.

This is just some of what is in the EBOOK.

As you can see there is plenty of valuable information in this EBOOK for you to use to make your garden the envy of all your friends.

I could just keep writing along and tell you more about how to put your garden together and you would learn a good deal from it. You might also already know some of the stuff I’d write. Then again you might just close this page and never make it back here again.

You should also subscribe to my RSS feed and then you can get updates every time I make a new posting.

As the season progresses and you have more and more material to compost with you start making your own compost. If you have the ability to collect the drippings that come from the pile then you can use that as a super food tea for the plants in the garden.

We have one of those compost tumblers that produces compost in a few weeks time and it gives off a good amount of compost tea on each batch of compost. Very very nice for the plants. We just leave a bucket under the bin and it drips as it will.

Another thing to keep a good supply of is mulch. Mulch is one of the great weed barriers for a garden and it also holds in more moisture so you don’t waste too much water from evaporation. We all know what happens if the ground gets too dry.

Also you need to make sure your ground isn’t sopping wet or it will breed diseases and mold.

You Really Should Get This EBOOK right now.

I’ve done some looking around and I found a very simple and easy to make fertilizer that will give an all around good nutritional boost to your garden.

Here is a link to a site I found that has a simple recipe for you to follow.

Sometimes it’s so easy to just go to the store and buy what’s on the shelf without looking to see what’s in the ingredients of their fertilizer. You know how it can be. You just remember you need some fertilizer for the garden and you’re right there right now so it wont hurt to just get what they have. Then you no longer need to get fertilizer so you move on to the next thing.

Now you put this stuff on your plants and maybe you still aren’t thinking about what’s in it. Can you eat the produce that is grown with that fertilizer? I’ve seen some that you cannot eat when reading some labels. So your best bet is to take the time to at least read up on what your plants really need and just get them that.

Here is a basic list of what a plant needs

Balanced PH for the particular plant

Minerals

Decomposed matter for the basic nutrient compounds

Moisture

Good soil

Air and sunlight

Those are the basic things and then you can get more involved with each component. As long as you have these things in place you will be able to grow your own food with ease.

In making your own fertilizer you want to take naturally occurring ingredients and mix them in appropriate proportions to give the plant the extra boost it needs to be healthy. After all a healthy plant will fight off insects and disease far better than unhealthy plants.

Here is another link for fertilizer This one has more in depth information.

When you want to get a head start on the growing season in your area one of the best things to do is start your seedlings in the house during the winter. You will find that when you get to plant them there is far less waiting for them to produce.

We set up an area with a south facing window that is warm and gets good ventilation. You have to watch out for stagnant air so you don’t get any molding going on. Keeping an area moist with no air flow is great breeding ground for mold. So keep some sort of air flow going now and then.

It’s best to start your plants after the days begin to get longer. Plants can tell when the day light increases and they can tell as well when the day light decreases. So you want the day light to be on the increase so it makes the plant grow more.

Generally when the day light is decreasing many type of plants go into their seed producing stages. This is because they have to produce reproductive properties for the next growing season in order to continue to survive as a species.

That is the main reason we want the days to be increasing in day light. That is the plants natural growth time. If we start them indoors or in greenhouses then when the outdoor temperatures are stable and warm enough for the plants we can move them. When they get moved they are already in good growth and there is no waiting for the seeds to germinate and break through the soil.

Now the harvest of the produce is even closer because the plants are already heading to production. There is a short time after transplanting that the plants need to adjust to the move but it is far shorter than the time to wait for the seeds to come through the ground.

One more thing is to start seeds every couple of weeks so the plants are different ages. This way you will be able to harvest your vegetables on a regular basis instead of them getting ripe all at the same time. That can be a problem if you grow a lot because it’s hard to use it all in a hurry.

Do not use pesticides or herbicides in your gardens. They leach into the foods you are about to eat and the whole reason you are growing your own food is to get rid of these toxic elements from your diet. Don’t go thinking that the food producers wouldn’t sell you anything that was harmful to you because that’s exactly what’s happening to you when you buy regular produce in the grocery stores. Though it may be minute amounts of the toxins they are still there and the more you get the greater chance of illness.

Growing an organic garden isn’t a difficult task. Actually it’s an art and it was the way gardening and farming was originally done a hundred years ago and the overall health of the population was far greater. Man doesn’t know better than nature.

With the advent of pesticides and herbicides for the farming industry came the cheaper foods and the higher rate of disease in the people that eat those foods. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out and I personally don’t need some scientist to tell me there is nothing wrong with eating these foods.

I’m quite a bit smarter than that and I don’t go for the hype that the media and the manufacturers of these chemicals try to tell us. I look around and I see there is something terribly wrong with our modern way of living. People are sicker and fatter then ever before. How could this be so wide spread if it isn’t in the food?

So that is just a couple reasons to go organic! How about the environment? How about the wild life? DDT was banned because it was killing off animals especially Eagles. We just haven’t seen the impact that our current chemicals are creating. I can’t believe there isn’t an impact that we need to fix. Last I heard there is a dwindling of honey bees going on. If that’s true then my guess is that man has something to do with it.

Okay okay I do get passionate about what the major corporations do to us and the environment in their quest for money. So now I will get to the real reason for this post.

Growing organic vegetables the easy way has many benefits for your well being and your sanity. A garden is very therapeutic both mentally and physically. It is relaxing and it is fulfilling at the same time. You get exercise for the body and you get the joys of nature for the mind. What could be better than that. Unless you want to factor in the money savings from growing some or all of your own food.

Now you may be thinking that organic gardening is very difficult to do but it really isn’t. Gardening organically was how everyone used to do it way before man started to make all his chemicals. So really all we are doing is reverting back to the way that works the best.

Organic vegetables that are grown in good conditions with mulch and compost and worms and lady bugs are beautiful large and juicy. They have far more nutrition for your body as they are grown in soil that has naturally occurring nutrients and minerals. These plants convert that raw goodness to the nutrition your body requires.

If you’re not quite sure how to build a garden or how big to make it then my suggestion would be to get yourself more information on this so you can build your knowledge base and make decisions that wont overwhelm you.

I’ve found a very handy web page that you can visit to get all the information you need for your organic gardening needs. If you want to grow in containers then this covers it. If you want to take a section of your yard or land to grow in then this also covers that. All of the aspects of gardening organically are covered.

Just Click Here to visit the site.

Growing organic vegetables the easy way is just that. Easy! You can make a small bed either raised or flat that measures just 3′ X 6′ and grow several different veggies in it from spring through summer and even through the fall in most areas.

Preparing the bed is also very easy to do. You are going to be mixing soils and making a fertile bed for the plants to grow in. Then planting the seeds and watching to see them grow. To your delight you get to watch them mature into wonderful large plants with wholesome fruits abounding.

In an upcoming post I’ll be covering the benefits of composting.

See you there.

Organic gardening can be a lot of fun. There are so many benefits to growing your own foods. One of them is the simple pleasure of enjoying the fruits of your labor. Then another one is knowing that there aren’t any unknown chemicals on or in your food to make you ill.

Commercially grown foods are loaded with pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers. How do you know those substances are actually safe to eat. Just because a company that sells the stuff to the farmer says it is safe for the consumer to eat doesn’t mean that it is true. In fact I would venture to say that those substances have a lot to do with the current amount of ill health we have in the world.

So back to organic foods and your garden. I’ve searched around and found a great page with the needed information to get you growing the best organic foods you can. Just click here

I want to teach you how to grow organic vegetables. That way you can create the joy and and well being of growing your own food. It is really easy once you learn the basics.

If you have never tried the organic vs conventional tomato taste test maybe now is a good time. The ones you buy at the store may not seem that different in taste but the ones you grow vs the ones in the store will have a distinct difference. Here is the reason why. In the store they have to pick the fruits before they are ripe to be able to get them to your house before they spoil. The ones from your own garden ripen on the vine and you get the natural full cycle of the plant to fill that tomato with flavor.

That’s simple enough to understand. So you owe it to yourself to find out what you have been missing. All fruits and vegetables in the store have to be picked before they are ripe in order for them to make it to your home and table. That leaves out a bunch of flavor and nutrients that would naturally be developed in the ripening stages.

Go download this ebook on organic gardening right now to find out everything you need to know.
