Are You Still Putting Off That Storage Shed

April 18, 2010 By: Glenn Gehrke Category: Home Additions

I know how tough it can be to get together the time to build a storage shed for all the yard tools. Also the plans for the shed. How big to build it and where to put it. But what if some of those things were handled by just getting yourself a set of plans or maybe even a bunch of plans to choose from.

Now how nice would that be to have a bunch of plans at your fingertips to choose from that would tell you exactly how to build just exactly what you were looking for.

Now I’ve built plenty of sheds over the years and they aren’t really hard to do. They take time and if you want to build your own storage shed you should have some plans at hand. I’ve added a great link for you to follow where you can go and get a bunch of different plans to choose from.

When you’re ready to get started on your storage shed there are a few things you should do first. I do a layout on the ground where the shed is going to be. I then place pier blocks into the ground so the whole shed will not be touching any ground when it is finished. This will ensure the shed lasts a very long time by not rotting. Use the blocks with the adjustable height saddles and you will be able to level it out easier once you have built the floor frame.

As soon as you have the frame level and square it up attach the floor and start building the walls. From here on out it is just a matter of placing all the walls and then the rafters and roofing together a piece at time.

Now I realize that for an experienced person this would all sound simple and easy. For a novice it may seem complex and for someone that has never built anything at all it may sound un-doable.

Just Click Here and watch the short video on the page. It will show you a bit of how easy it really is.

Cheers
Glenn
